About Me
Everyone has their own journey. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been able to sit beside individuals as they navigate through the most challenging times of said journey. As society debates whose life matters, which rights one can have over their own bodies, and what is taught in schools, I can only think about how these experiences will shape the journeys of my current clients and those I have yet to meet. I strive to be an expert in counseling individuals in their pursuit of personal peace, particularly for survivors of trauma. I am also interested in continuing to foster the growth in training and teaching future social workers.
My career aspirations came from my Saturdays spent with my mother watching “based on a true story” movie marathons on the cable network, Lifetime. It was there that I began to build an interest in knowing the backstories of individuals and walking alongside them during the healing process. I wanted to know what feelings, relationships or events brought people to their current level of functioning, their successes, their struggles. I originally thought I would achieve this by being a family court attorney. However, as I pursued my undergraduate degree, I quickly found that I wanted to be on the other side of the courtroom. I wanted to be able to continue to serve after the verdict was read. I received my Bachelor of Psychology (2003), Bachelor of Social Work (2005), and Masters of Social Work (2006) from the University of Arkansas. As I discovered more and more gaps in the local mental health system, I began to explore the idea of private practice to diversify my experience with outpatient services for adults and children.
In 2012, I founded Eason Counseling and Associates, LLC. It began as a single clinician practice where I worked with families in the evenings and weekends to accommodate my full-time agency work. I started off receiving referrals from my children’s pediatrician and Employee Assistance Plans to build a small practice. In 2018, I decided to pursue private practice on a full-time basis due to the recent closing of the agency where I was employed. In a little over six months, I went from a single provider practice to employing over 10 clinicians and support staff. I was also able to obtain contracts with three of the largest school districts in my region. Eason Counseling and Associates is now an ever-growing group of 35 employees with two clinics managing over 1,800 clients of all ages in Northwest Arkansas.
